Boston Public Schools: Department of Adult Education

ALC is committed to strengthening literacy and parenting skills of families of children enrolled in Boston Public Schools. Our program is free and parents of Boston Public Schools children are prioritized for enrollment.

Prospective students must attend an information and registration session, take a placement test to assess reading/writing and speaking/listening skills. The test results are used to determine the best class for the student (and there are no good or bad scores).

Please Note: The current wait time is usually six months. It’s best to add your name to our waitlist since we fill any open slots from the waitlist.
