Originally, All Dorchester Sports League was exclusively a youth sports organization. ADSL’s mission changed in 1997 when we saw an unmet need and added an education resource center (ERC) for tutoring and academic guidance. In 2008, in response to new challenges faced by residents in our community, ADSL expanded once again to offer fitness and nutrition education. After years of continuing growth and success, we changed our name to reflect our new, holistic goal of health and wellness, to All Dorchester Sports and Leadership.

Boy With a Ball helps young people and families reach their dreams through launching youth as changemakers who ignite city-wide movements to transform hurting neighborhoods. Love Your City, our main effort, involves volunteer teams building friendships with community members in an at-risk neighborhood, learning about barriers keeping youth and families from their dreams, and launching youth as leaders into creating innovative solutions to help the community rise. Currently, Love Your City is focused on an apartment community in Jackson Square.

HSTF was founded on the belief that communities are stronger when we take care of our youth. By harnessing their potential, we not only help youth navigate adolescence, but support them in becoming the changemakers of today and our future. HSTF was formed in the 1980s by a coalition of neighbors and leaders coming together to address the growing violence and related challenges facing the Hyde/Jackson neighborhood of Jamaica Plain. Now known as Boston’s Latin Quarter, our neighborhood has transformed. Despite the progress, like in other urban neighborhoods, our youth continue to struggle with high levels of poverty, community violence and low-educational attainment.

The Home for Little Wanderers’ Boston-Suffolk County Family Resource Center provides services that strengthen families by connecting them to resources within their own communities and through innovative programming. We help to: divert families who are or may be at risk of becoming court involved; navigate different city and state systems (BPS, DCF, DYS, DMH, DDS, CBHI); refer families to needed supports; offer evidenced based and creative programs, workshops, and trainings; and host family fun events. We are free to the community and welcome all of Suffolk County to our center.
